How much can a steel panel level hold?
Depending on the setup, up to several tonnes per level. The exact figure depends on the beam and frame, not just the panel. The rack's bay load is always decisive.
What lengths do steel panels come in?
Common standard lengths are 1825, 2700 and 3600 mm. Several panels lie side by side to make up the full bay width.
Steel panel or chipboard, which is better?
Steel carries more and is resistant to moisture and fire, but costs more. For dry, light goods the cheaper chipboard is sufficient. For heavy or dirty goods, steel is the safe choice.
Are steel panels suitable for fire protection?
Steel is non-combustible and therefore often suitable for fire protection. In sprinkler concepts, however, open mesh decks are sometimes required because they let the extinguishing water through.
Can I retrofit steel panels?
Yes. The panels rest loosely on the existing beams and can be fitted into existing pallet racks without screws, provided the beam spacing matches.
