Description
The fetra swivel caster 71602 with TPE tires (thermoplastic elastomer) is the perfect choice for applications that require high mobility and at the same time protect the floor. The galvanized sheet steel housing ensures a robust construction and resistance to corrosion.
Thanks to the special TPE tires, this caster offers an exceptionally low starting, rolling and swivel resistance. This means for you: Transport goods can be moved with minimal effort, which noticeably facilitates work and prevents fatigue. The running is always quiet and low-noise.
Another advantage of the TPE tires is that they are non-chalking. They leave no unwanted streaks or stains on sensitive floor coverings, making them ideal for use in offices, hospitals, laboratories or clean production areas.
Equipped with a precision grooved ball bearing and thread guard, this swivel caster is designed for a long service life. The assembly is done via screw holes with a Ø of 9 mm. It is ideally suited for use on furniture, equipment, transport trolleys and many other mobile objects.
Frequently asked questions about Swivel Castors
A swivel castor turns through 360 degrees and steers in any direction. A fixed castor stays put and only rolls forwards and backwards. The usual setup combines two fixed and two swivel castors.
That depends on their size and design. Light castors carry from around 50 kg each, medium-duty ones often 100 to 300 kg, and heavy-duty castors considerably more. The figure always applies per castor.
Whenever the equipment needs to stand securely, for example while loading or on a slightly sloping floor. There are brakes that lock only the wheel and brakes that also lock the swivel action.
Polyurethane is ideal on smooth, sensitive floors. On uneven floors solid rubber rolls quietly and well. Polyamide is very impact-resistant and rolls easily.
Four swivel castors make the equipment very manoeuvrable but hold their line less well over longer distances. Two fixed and two swivel castors are the good compromise for most trolleys.
