Castors & Levelling Spindles
Castors make a mobile scaffold mobile and can be locked against rolling away once the work position is reached. Levelling spindles additionally even out small floor irregularities for a level stand. This category belongs to our mobile scaffolds & tower scaffolds range.
What to look out for
- castor diameters commonly between 125 and 200 mm depending on model and floor
- cast aluminium and rubber castors differ in smoothness and suitable surfaces
- check the locking function before every climb onto the platform
- note that PaxTower models use their own castor adapters
On uneven ground, extra ballast weights & accessories is also worth considering, and matching folding frames are available with our COMPACT folding scaffolds. Check castors and spindles regularly for wear, since damaged castors reduce the stability of the whole tower; on tiled or paved floors castors alone are usually enough, while on soft or uneven ground the spindles level out the extra height.
