What are pneumatic wheels best suited to?
To uneven outdoor surfaces such as paving, gravel or grass. The air cushioning absorbs bumps and protects both the load and your back.
Can pneumatic wheels go flat?
Yes. Because they are filled with air, sharp objects such as nails or glass can puncture the inner tube. If you want to avoid this, use PU or solid rubber wheels.
Pneumatic wheels or PU wheels, which are better?
Pneumatic wheels cushion more strongly and are ideal on rough terrain. PU wheels cannot go flat and need less maintenance, for example in workshops and recycling. Both have their place.
Do I have to check the air pressure?
Yes, regularly. Too little pressure makes rolling hard and the tyre can slip off the rim. Too much pressure makes the wheel hard.
Are pneumatic wheels worthwhile on a smooth hall floor?
Not really. On a smooth, level floor pneumatic wheels roll harder than hard wheels and offer hardly any advantage. PU or solid rubber wheels are the better choice there.
